He has had extensive experience across a number of sectors including household products and foods, working in the UK, Germany and the US, most recently as Chief Financial Officer of Air Liquide. He is Chief Executive of The Buccleuch Group. |

 | Rodney Shearer - Managing Director Rodney is a founding director of Alba Trees and held the post of Production Director since the company’s inception in March 1988. Promoted to the position of Managing Director in 2000.
A professional horticulturist, Rodney was responsible for the development of the nursery from a green field site. In his role as Managing Director he still maintains a hands on role in production and is heavily involved in consultancy as he is the leading expert in the UK in the production of cell grown trees and shrubs. |

 | James Hepburne Scott - Sales Director James has been with Alba Trees since 1992, following a career in agricultural marketing and finance. He is responsible for UK and export sales and marketing. He liases closely with customers to anticipate future plant requirements in order to formulate the annual production plan with Rodney.
James owns a small farm in the Scottish Borders and is Chairman of the Forestry and Timber Association for Scotland. He is a committee member of the Forest Nursery group of the FTA. Via FTA he is very active in promoting the interests of private woodland owners through lobbying politicians and discussions with NGOs. |

 | Barry Sutton - Development Director Barry joined Alba in 1989. With responsibility for new projects and IT, he has developed unique software used for production planning, stock control and sales order processing to assist in the management of a complex mix of crops and product specifications.
Barry performs a co-ordinating role between sales and production. His background as a forester ensures both the sales team and the production team are able to appreciate the challenges faced by woodland managers. |

 | Chris M Hyde - Non Executive Director Chris has been an Alba shareholder since it''s inception. He is a London School of Economics graduate and chartered accountant and has held senior positions in finance and operations throughout his city career. More recently, Chris has completed various assignments within financial services including at a city firm focused on environmental and climate change related finance. |

 | Andy Wiseman - Non Executive Director Andy is a professional chartered forester who has worked in the forest industry for nearly 30 years. He has extensive management experience across the private and public sectors, including contracting, sawmilling and wildlife conservation projects. Andy is currently the General Manager of Buccleuch BioEnergy, a renewable energy company supplying, installing and providing wood fuel to industrial and commercial scale biomass energy systems. |

 | Derek Stewart - Nursery Supervisor Derek joined Alba in 2001 as a nursery charge-hand. He has 15 years experience in horticulture, a significant time being spent producing genetically improved Sitka Spruce from cuttings.
In 2002 he took over as Nursery Supervisor and is now responsible for the day to day management of the nursery team who man the nursery 7 days a week and successfully manage a complex mix of crops.

 | Kevin Shearer - Despatch Supervisor Kevin has been with Alba since 1995. He attended Forestry School in Inverness and has since worked in nurseries in Canada and the Czech Republic. Whilst with Alba he has held various positions, now progressing to Despatch Supervisor and is responsible for scheduling all deliveries and ensuring that orders are despatched on time. Kevin is normally the point of contact to answer customer queries relating to delivery issues.

 | Jackie Watson - Sales Administrator Jackie joined the company in 1992. She comes from a farming background. The company enjoys a reputation for speedy response to quotes and sales queries. This is in no small part down to the hard work of Jackie who has become a familiar voice to many of our customers in her role as Office Sales Executive.

 | Margaret Allan - Sales Administrator Margaret joined us in 1997. She comes from a farming background and works with us during the busy sales season, taking time off during the summer to be with her family.
Margaret too has become a familiar voice to many customers over the past few years and, along with Jackie, helps to put together our annual show and exhibition program and our very poplular Plant Sale Day which is held at the beginning of May each year.

 | Scott Imrie - Driver Scott has been with the company since 1990 . Initially employed as a spray operator on the nursery, he is now the “face of Alba” to our customers during the busy despatch season, spending almost all his working time behind the wheel of our delivery vehicle.
Covering the entire UK, Scott’s knowledge of our customer’s specific delivery requirements often proves crucial in making a successful delivery.

 | Anne White - Accounts Administrator Anne joined Alba in 1989 as part time bookkeeper. She is now accounts administrator and has been involved in the computerisation of the accounts system. Her role has greatly expanded and along with the daily management of accounts she is also responsible for company insurance and assists in budget forecasting.
Anne is the company’s longest serving employee.

 | Arlene Mcmillan - Receptionist Arlene joined the company in December 2006. When phoning or visiting the nursery, Arlene''s cheerful voice is normally your first contact and she will direct you to the appropriate person or department. Locating staff can be a major task with personnel scattered over the site - so please bear with her if it takes some time! Arelene will, where possible, help with customer queries. |
