Bay Willow (Salix pentandra)
The Bay Willow is regarded as the best looking of the willows due to its glossy leaves. Giving your garden visual benefits alongside its water cleaning properties.
Product Description
Native to Northern Europe and Asia, Bay Willow (Salix petandra) is an intriguing yet underappreciated willow tree that grows wild in parts of Britain's north.
Salix pentandra matures to a maximum height of 12 metres with a rounded crown. The rich green, glossy leaves of this tree, which give it a decidedly evergreen appearance is rare for a willow with its beautiful yellow-green catkins which form inside its foliage.
The Bay Willow can grow in a wide variety of soil conditions and is especially fond of damp soils located near waterways.
This tree is a stunning and resilient addition to any garden. It is well worth considering for both traditional native tree planting in residential gardens and favoured by foresters for large projects.
