  • Product Description

Sycamore, known scientifically as Acer pseudoplatanus, is a large, robust deciduous tree that is prized for its broad canopy, lobed leaves, and distinctive winged seeds, known as "helicopters." Native to Europe, the Sycamore is widely planted in the UK for its rapid growth, hardiness, and adaptability to various environments. Its towering presence and dense foliage make it a popular choice for shade, windbreaks, and large landscapes.

Sycamore is a low-maintenance tree, well-suited to a variety of soil types and environmental conditions. It requires little care once established, though it benefits from regular pruning to maintain shape and remove dead or damaged branches. Sycamore is highly resistant to pollution and can thrive in urban environments. Ensure young trees are watered during dry periods to help them establish a strong root system.

Sycamore is an excellent choice for a variety of landscaping and forestry purposes. Its dense foliage provides ample shade, making it ideal for parks, large gardens, and avenues. It is also commonly used in reforestation projects and as a windbreak due to its resilience in exposed conditions. The tree's wood is highly valued in timber production for furniture, flooring, and musical instruments. Additionally, the Sycamore's seeds and flowers support a wide range of wildlife, including birds and pollinators.
