  • Product Description

The Dawn Redwood, a true living fossil, is a deciduous conifer that brings a touch of ancient beauty to any landscape. With its elegant, pyramidal form and soft, feathery foliage, this majestic tree is both a striking ornamental feature and a testament to nature’s enduring resilience. Ideal for parks, gardens, and large estates, the Dawn Redwood thrives in a variety of soil types and conditions, making it a versatile choice for those seeking to create a tranquil, timeless environment.

    Origin and History:
Once believed extinct and known only from fossils, the Dawn Redwood was rediscovered in China in the 1940s, sparking international interest and conservation efforts. This prehistoric tree, dating back over 50 million years, has since been successfully cultivated across the globe, symbolizing a remarkable botanical revival. The species is closely related to the Giant Sequoia and Coast Redwood, yet it stands out with its unique seasonal color changes and delicate, needle-like leaves.

    Growth and Characteristics:
The Dawn Redwood is renowned for its fast growth, capable of reaching heights of up to 35 meters within a few decades under optimal conditions. In spring and summer, its light green leaves form a lush, dense canopy, providing ample shade. As autumn approaches, the foliage turns a warm, coppery-brown before shedding, creating a stunning seasonal display. Its deeply furrowed, reddish-brown bark adds texture and visual interest throughout the year.
