Green Beech prefers a moist but well drained site and can be used to make a lovely formal hedge, and if left un-trimmed can grow up to 40m high.

Green beech makes excellent hedge. Its beautiful branches are covered with vibrant green leaves in the spring, which have a hint of furriness. As the foliage ages, it becomes a deeper shade of green, and in the autumn, it turns golden and russet. Tiny blossoms appear in the summer and turn into mature beech nuts in the autumn.

Beech is a very adaptable plant for hedging; depending on your needs, it may be kept at any size from roughly 60 cm to several metres high. Green beech hedging grows well in both full sun and partial shade. It is especially well-liked for planting alongside roadsides where year-round privacy is desired since the brown winter foliage is not damaged by the salt spray that is sometimes encountered in these areas, which can scorch evergreens.
