Wild Pear (Pyrus communis)

It tolerates drought and atmospheric pollution well and can even be grown in a pot in the centre of large cities. It makes for great hedging due to its thorny branches and thick foliage. It can be pruned to fit in many different types of green spaces and gardens. It is a very tough tree which after planting requires little maintenance. Asides from hedging it also makes for a stunning single tree ideal for small gardens with its beautiful spring bloom.
