The Rowan tree is a slim tree with graceful, upward-facing branches and smooth grey bark. This tree grows happily in lowland heath and pasture as well as on an exposed slope.

Rowan features fern-like leaves that turn a gorgeous burnt red in the autumn, along with silvery-brown bark. Its thin shape makes it an ideal specimen tree for a garden. Yields beautiful red berries, and in the autumn, the leaves take on a striking orange hue.

Rowan is able to grow in altitude. The Rowan tree was even hanged outside homes to ward off evil, according to ancient legend, which also claims that it provides assistance and protection against enchantment.

They are a great tree for smaller gardens. Bees love its blooms, and small birds rely heavily on their berries for sustenance during the autumn season. If you desire some seclusion or to cover an unsightly building from your neighbours, they make excellent screening trees.
