Small-Leaved Lime (Tilia cordata)

Tillia cordata , aka the Small Leaved Lime,is an old native English tree that embodies summer with its translucent, fresh green foliage and tiny, sweetly perfumed white blooms. It is a truly stunning tree that is perfect for big gardens, avenues, and parks. Small Leaved Lime can grow in most soils, sun and shade.

Although they are hardy and adaptable, this tree prefers good, loamy settings and is drought-resistant. Dormant shoots can withstand extreme cold and frost.

It is getting harder to find and is frequently thought of as a sign of ancient woodland. The tree is relatively resistant to disease, while leaf scorch is a typical issue when planted in dry soils. Fortunately, leaf scorch is not a permanent issue because the leaves fall off the tree in the fall.
