The captivating tale of the enchanted hazel tree is the most well-known of all the myths and tales about the gifts of nature that find their way into our life.
Greek mythology describes Hermes as the deity of border crossings and the messenger of the gods. He is reported to have carried a staff fashioned from a hazel tree to help him in his journeys through the spirit and human realms! Mercury, the Roman counterpart of Hermes, was similarly endowed with tremendous insight by a Hazel staff.
Celtic folklore from long ago tells tales of the Hazel being connected to inspiration and wisdom. It is believed that this hallowed tree possesses a potent charm that can infuse individuals who consume its fruit.
There there were nine mystical hazel trees that were said to mark the boundaries between the world of the gods and the human race. The hazel trees' branches were claimed to be thick with fruit, and their nuts would frequently drop into a nearby stream where the salmon would eat them. The fish would acquire all knowledge in the world and become renowned as the Salmon of Wisdom after consuming the hazelnuts! The salmon's sides became brilliant, shimmering patches, signifying that the Magical Hazel trees had blessed them. It was thought that those who consumed the hazelnuts would have prophetic talents and lead wise lives!
Since the Celtic words for knowledge and nuts are "cnocach" and "cno," respectively, the tale of Hazel and the Wise Salmon endures to this day! -

Our trees are planted, grown and cared for on site. This means, once the seeds are delivered to us we plant them, establish them in our polytunnels and then harden them off. The trees you are delivered have been with us since seed and we look after them until the moment they leave.

All postage and packaging charges for products delivered to the Mainland UK are included within the price. Additional charges apply for Northern Ireland, The Highlands & Scottish Isles, The Channel Islands, Scilly Isles & Isle of Man when ordering more than 8 trees.
As a guide, orders for 8 plants or more will be sent via a courier, 8 plants or fewer will be sent by Royal Mail.

Refunds
Your happiness is our business and that is why we individually check every single tree that we send out. If you have a concern about your tree, please get in touch with us within 7 days so that we can diagnose the issue. Very rarely, we might ask you to send the tree back to us in secure packaging to help us identify the issue but often we can identify the issue with photographs.
